The BC River Forecast Centre has upgraded the Shuswap Region to Flood Watch status.

If your property is prone to flooding, you are encouraged to take proactive steps to protect your home. Self-serve sandbag filling stations have been setup in the community with locations at the Sicamous Beach Park parking lot, Finlayson Park parking lot, and Sicamous Creek Trails parking lot.

The District of Sicamous and Shuswap Emergency Program are working closely together and are taking the necessary steps to protect critical infrastructure within the community. Property owners are responsible for ensuring they have the equipment required to protect their properties from flooding.  

Residents in flood-prone areas are also encouraged to monitor the weather and lake and river levels. The District, Shuswap Emergency Program and CSRD websites and social media platforms will be updated with the most current information.
