The Columbia Shuswap Invasive Species Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention, management and reduction of invasive species in the Columbia Shuswap Regional District. The District of Sicamous partners with the Columbia Shuswap Invasive Species Society (CSISS) to identify and address invasive species within the municipality. The District is represented on the CSISS Board of Directors by Jeromy Schuetze, District Engineer.

On Thursday, June 15, CSISS held a celebration to reflect on accomplishments, recognize contributors, and look ahead to the future. This significant milestone marks a decade of dedicated efforts to protect ecosystems in the region from the threats posed by invasive species.

Special longstanding recognition awards were presented to individuals who played a pivotal role in their success over the past ten years. CSISS Technician Nolan Novotny presented on invasive insects, Outreach Coordinator Jess Booth lead a nature walk, and some interactive invasive species activities were held.
