The Riverside Avenue watermain upsizing project will begin on August 20, 2024.

If you can believe it, the existing water infrastructure is over 50 years old! From Kappel Street to Martin Street, fire flow will be increased by replacing the aging water main from 6” line to 10”.

The section of Riverside Avenue from Kappel Street to Martin Street will be impacted by this project. General Assembly, the contractor, will notify affected residents. The project will last approximately six weeks.

General Assembly has told the district that, for as much of the project as possible, the west lane of Riverside Avenue will remain open to local traffic. The sidewalk on the west side of Riverside Avenue will remain open for the first half of the project.

Following the watermain replacement and upgrade, the roadway will be reconstructed and the sidewalk on the west side will be repaved.
