Restrictions for Outdoor Burning
Posted On: Oct 11, 2022
Sicamous abides by restrictions put in place by the Kamloops Fire Centre. There is currently a ban in effect for Category 2 and Category 3 open fires. The Sicamous Fire Chief would like to remind residents that only campfires are permitted due to drought conditions in the area.
Campfires are a maximum of 0.5 metres high by 0.5 metres wide and must always be attended with suppression measures ready.
While the District of Sicamous Outdoor Burning Bylaw No. 452, 2002 usually permits outdoor burning for the first two weeks of April and the last two weeks of October, residents must adhere to fire bans put in place by the Kamloops Fire Centre.
