The great thing about cold winter temperatures is that they eliminate approximately 90 per cent of the rat population in our region seasonally.

Unfortunately, resilient rats can repopulate fairly quickly in the right conditions.

If you locate rats in your neighbourhood, please inform bylaw enforcement at 250-836-2477 or bylaw@sicamous.ca so we can assess the situation and recommend control measures in those areas.

In cases where more intensive action needs to be taken, we are happy to provide contact information of licensed professionals in the area that can assist with abatement in either a residential or commercial setting.
