Public Hearing: Phased Development Agreement Bylaw No. 1087 (222 Temple Street)

Please be advised that a public hearing will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 5 p.m. in council chambers (District of Sicamous Municipal Hall, 446 Main Street, Sicamous, BC), regarding the District of Sicamous Phased Development Agreement Bylaw No. 1087, 2024 (“Phased Development Agreement Bylaw No. 1087, 2024”).

Under section 516 of the Local Government Act, the Phased Development Agreement Bylaw No. 1087, 2024, between the District of Sicamous and the developer (1473936 BC LTD.), establishes conditions under which development on the subject property can occur. Through this agreement and undertaking other applicable processes, the developer intends to facilitate construction of 73-unit townhouses in the parcel legally described LOT 1 DISTRICT LOT 452 KAMLOOPS DIVISION YALE DISTRICT PLAN EPP139195.

The agreement will secure specified zoning provisions as identified in the District of Sicamous Zoning Bylaw No. 1100, 2024 with respect to the land and requirements under the Subdivision and Development Servicing Bylaw No. 500, 2003, for a term of 10 years in exchange for other considerations deemed beneficial to the District of Sicamous. The proposed agreement will also generally provide for:

  • Development phasing
  • Development of applicable public infrastructure/amenities
  • Servicing for the development

Copies of the draft bylaw and attachments are available at Municipal Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday (excluding holidays). You may also view the Bylaw HERE.

If you believe that your interest in property is affected by the proposed bylaws, you will be afforded an opportunity to be heard at the public hearing or submit written comments, respecting the bylaw.

The public is encouraged to submit their comments in writing prior to the public hearing. Where all comments are received by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, they will be provided to council. You may submit your comments:

  • via regular mail to Box 219, Sicamous BC, V0E 2V0; or,
  • hand delivered to 446 Main Street, Sicamous, BC
