The District of Sicamous is pleased to introduce Tyson Eastland, the municipality's building official. Eastland joined the District team in September of 2023 and brings experience as a red seal carpenter to the planning and development department.

Prior to starting at the District, Eastland enjoyed a career building for multiple projects throughout the Shuswap. Through this experience, Eastland worked with multiple stakeholders from the Sicamous building world.

"I can assure the public that they are well-served by these hardworking individuals," Eastland said, reflecting on his time working with the local building community.

Eastland is focused on effectively communicating building information with residents of Sicamous.

"This position offers an exciting opportunity for me to expand my knowledge about the Building Code of British Columbia, evolving building practices and advancements in building technology," said Eastland.

When not at work, Tyson can be found playing what he describes as "substandard golf" at any one of the beautiful golf courses in and around Sicamous.
