Collection Notice

Personal information on this form is collected under the authority of the Freedom of Information & Protection of Privacy Act (the Act) for administrative purposes of the District of Sicamous. Personal information is protected from unauthorized use and disclosure and may only be used and disclosed as provided by the Act. Questions regarding personal information collection for business license applications can be directed to the privacy coordinator at corporate@sicamous.ca or 250-836-5263.

Business

Please include the name of your business/short-term rental/bed and breakfast.

Local Responsible Person

Local Responsible Person must be an individual or company who will be able to respond to phone calls within 15 minutes, 24 hours a day during the duration of any guest stay, who live within 1 hour drive of the property. This person can be you, if you meet the above criteria. This information will be made available to the public on the District's website, on the short term rental map.

The registered owner of the property must also be the short-term rental business owner, except in the case of a bed & breakfast business owned by a tenant, and must be accompanied by an Agent Authorization Form.

One parking space is required per bedroom with a limit of two adults. Please include the ID number of assigned parking spaces where the unit is within a strata.

List any platforms or other means of advertising for your short-term rental.

SECTION 5 - File Upload

Please note that incomplete applications may not be accepted and will take longer to process. However, note the following:

  • Title - the District may order this on your behalf for a fee of $20 - please advise
  • Agent Authorization Form - this is required if the Local Responsible Person is not the property owner
  • Strata Consent Form - this is required if the unit is located within a strata

This form is required if you are an agent applying on behalf of an owner. Or, if you are an owner applying and will have an agent operate the short term rental (i.e. vacation rental company).

SECTION 6 - Declarations & Notices

As the business owner, I/we apply for a business licence according to the abovementioned particulars and declare the above statements are true and correct. I/We understand that if granted the business license applied for, I/We will comply with every obligation contained in all laws and bylaws in force or which may from now on come into force in the District of Sicamous. I/we declare that I am/we are the agent(s) or owner(s) and I am/we are authorized to make this application.

Any vehicles including boat trailers associated with guest stays will be parked off street as per DOS Zoning Bylaw No. 1000, 2022. I will be committed to proactively cooperating with neighbours and the District in ensuring minimal impact on the neighbourhood as a result of business operations.

I understand that the contact details for the designated Local Responsible Person, which can be myself if I meet the criteria, will be made available to the public on the District's website on the Short Term Rental map.

Section 6 - Payment

Cheque Payment By Mail or After-Hours Drop Box:

Please provide a note or subject line indicating the payment is for a business licence (i.e., business licence application fee for John Doe Inc.).

Credit Card Payment  (2.5% User Fee)

  1. Go to: https://ipn.paymentus.com/rotp/sica
  2. Enter your phone number on your application as your 7-digit customer number. Do not include your area code.
  3. Fill in all other information and make payment.

Online Banking

The District does not accept e-transfers. To make a payment through online banking:

  1. Log in to your online banking and add a payee.
  2. Search for Sicamous (3 accounts should come up – Sicamous Taxes, Sicamous Utilities, Sicamous Accounts Receivable or A/R or Accts Rec).
  3. Select the Sicamous Accounts Receivable Account.
  4. Enter your phone number on your application as your 7-digit account number (do not include your area code).

*This number will be used temporarily, as you will be issued a customer number once your application is processed.  Please delete this payee number once your application fee is paid and use your customer number for future transactions.

  1. Complete other fields required by your bank to make the payment.
